Burger King Tweet Outrages Women
Burger King outraged people yesterday on International Women’s Day when they posted the following tweet: ”Women belong in the kitchen.”
Why did they tweet this? The fast-food giant was attempting to promote a culinary scholarship program to combat gender disparity in the restaurant industry. It did not go over well.
They then tweeted: ”If they want to, of course. Yet only 20% of chefs are women. We’re on a mission to change the gender ratio in the restaurant industry by empowering female employees with the opportunity to pursue a culinary career”
