10 Easy St. Patrick’s Day Crafts For Kids And Adults

1. Mini Leprechaun Hat
What You Need:
- Construction Paper (green, black, yellow)
- Finished Toilet Paper Roll
- Glue
- Scissors
Directions:
- Wrap your finished toilet paper roll in green construction paper and glue this on.
- Once the green construction paper is on, cut a strip of black construction paper around where the bottom of your hat will be to represent the belt and buckle on the hat.
- Cut your yellow paper into a square with a smaller square shape inside of it and paste ontop of the black strip.
- Cut a piece of green construction paper into a circle slightly bigger than the toilet paper roll and paste on the bottom of the hat.
- Enjoy your mini leprechaun hat which is a great decoration, or perfect to place on the pets!
2. Shamrock Suncatcher
What You Need:
- Paper Plate
- Scissors
- Green Tissue Paper
- Glue
- String or alternative to hang catcher with
Directions:
- Put a small hole in the center of your paper plate
- Once you have the hole, cut the center of your paper plate into a shamrock shape, not touching the edges of the plate.
- Now that you have your shamrock shape, gently glue your tissue paper over the shamrock hole.
- Glue your string or alternative on top of the plate.
- Lastly, be sure to place your catcher somewhere sunny and enjoy the shamrocks reflection!
3. Leprechaun Paper Plate Face
What You Need:
- Paper Plate
- Paint (orange)
- Construction Paper (black, green, yellow)
- Glue
- Black Marker
Directions:
- Paint half the rim of the paper plate orange
- While letting this dry, cut your green construction paper into a leprechaun hat, adding a black strip near the bottom and yellow square out of the other construction paper for the buckle of the belt.
- When your hat is done and the paint is dry, glue your hat onto the non-painted upper part of the plate.
- Give your leprechaun a little face using the black marker and you’re set!
4. Rainbow Chain Necklace
What You Need:
- Construction Paper (colors of the rainbow and black)
- Scissors
- Tape
Directions:
- Cut your construction paper into small strips except the black construction paper.
- When you have your strips, also cut the black construction paper into the shape of a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
- Pick up one of your strips and tape its ends together so it is in the shape of a circle. When you have your first circle link, pick up another strip and put it on the inside of the circle and connect its ends together.
- Repeat this process changing colors until you have a chain of links that are big enough to fit around your head.
- When the chain is complete, glue some yellow construction paper ontop of your pot of gold.
- Tape the pot of gold onto the center front of the rainbow chain.
- Put on your rainbow chain and have a great St. Patty’s day!
5. Popsicle Stick Leprechaun Puppet
What You Need:
- Popsicle Stick
- Googly Eyes
- Construction Paper (black, tan, orange, green, yellow)
- Glue
- Scissors
- Black marker
Directions:
- Cut your green construction paper into the body, legs, arms, hat, and legs (including the feet) of the leprechaun.
- Next, cut the tan construction paper into a circle for the face and some hands.
- Finally, cut your black construction paper into a strip for the hat, the orange into the leprechaun’s beard and yellow into a small buckle to go onto the black strip.
- Once you have all your parts, glue them together accordingly.
- When they are all glued together, glue the googly eyes onto the face and give your leprechaun a smiley with a black marker.
- Glue your finished product onto the popsicle stick and enjoy your leprechaun friend!
6. Pom Pom Rainbow
What You Need:
- Pom Poms (colors of the rainbow)
- Glue
- Black Marker
- Gold Sequins
- Paper
Directions:
- Using your black marker, draw a pot of gold on the far left or right side of your paper.
- Next, draw the outline of your rainbow extending to the other end of your paper.
- Once you have the outline for your rainbow, glue the pom pom colors for each row matching the pattern of a rainbow all the way down your rainbow outline.
- After you have glued your rainbow down, glue your gold sequins ontop of the pot of gold you drew earlier to add some bling!
7. Rainbow Binoculars For Leprechaun Searching
What You Need:
- Construction Paper (colors of the rainbow)
- Two Finished Toilet Paper Rolls
- Tape
- Scissors
- Glue
Directions:
- Tape your two finished rolls of toilet paper next to each other so they look like binoculars.
- Cut a strip from each piece of construction paper so you have one for each color of the rainbow.
- Wrap a strip around the toilet paper roll and glue the ends together so that the toilet paper roll is not visible for this section.
- Repeat this until the rolls are covered with rainbow colors!
- With your green construction paper, cut a shamrock shape out and glue it ontop of your binoculars as a finishing touch.
- Go out and use your binoculars to find some leprechauns!
8. Shamrock Wand
What You Need:
- Popsicle Stick
- Green Marker
- Glue
- Tape
- Construction Paper (green)
- Gold Glitter
Directions:
- Cut three heart shapes out of your green construction paper.
- Glue the three hearts together into a shamrock shape. You can tape the back where they overlap to reinforce the glue as well.
- On the front side, outline the shamrock shape with glue and then quickly sprinkle gold glitter over the glue.
- While this dries, color your popsicle stick using the green marker.
- After coloring, glue your shamrock on the popsicle stick and your wand is complete!
9. Q-tip Shamrocks
What You Need:
- Q-tips
- Green Paint
- Paper
Directions:
- This is a great and easy activity for younger kids! Get your paper setup and have your paint into a container easy for dipping.
- Grab a q-tip and dip the tip into the paint.
- Use the tip to make mini shamrocks and drag down to create the stem!
10. Puffy Paint Shamrock
What You Need:
- Wet Glue
- White Shaving Cream
- Green Food Dye
- Paintbrush
- Paper
- Black Marker
- Green Glitter (optional)
- Paper Plate (to mix puffy paint mixture, optional)
Directions:
- Draw an outline of a shamrock on your piece of paper using the black marker.
- When you’ve finished drawing, it’s time to start making your puffy paint!
- Pour some wet glue onto your paper plate followed by an equal amount of shaving cream. Stir this together while adding in the green food dye.
- Once you have your green puffy paint, use the paintbrush to fill in your shamrock outline.
- Once the shamrock is filled in, add green glitter ontop if you wanna make your shamrock sparkle!
