On March 1, 2021, Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society volunteer and supporter, Nicholas Grisi, will embark on the journey of a lifetime. Nicholas will ride his bicycle from San Diego, CA to St. Augustine, FL on the ACA Southern Tier Route.

Nicholas has launched a GoFundMe to help raise money for items needed for his trip, as well as daily expenses, including food and lodging. He has currently raised over $6,000 and hopes to continue raising money as he travels across the country. He has pledged that he will be giving back 50% of the donations to the animal rescue, Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society.

“They do amazing things to help animals find their furever homes and are very active in the local community. I thought this would be a great opportunity to help raise some money for Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society as well so they can continue their work saving animals,” said Grisi.

Cycling across the county has been a long-time dream of Nicholas’ and due to the pandemic his job industry has shut down. He has decided now is the right time to accomplish his dream.

“In the spring of 2020 I lost 100 pounds and got into the best shape I have been in years, mainly due to cycling. While achieving this weight loss I realized there was no better time to set out on this journey than now,” said Grisi.

About Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society: The mission of the Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society is to provide a safe and peaceful haven for homeless, abandoned or abused animals. We will help decrease the number of cats and dogs being destroyed in kill shelters through the work of our foster, spay/neuter, trap-neuter-return, and education programs. The vision of the Karma Cat + Zen Dog Rescue Society is a world where every companion animal is respected, fed, warm, happy, and not in danger of being killed because it is temporarily homeless.
