Half of Women Say 2020 Made Them Go Gray Faster Than Ever Before
Out of 2,000 women in the One Poll survey, 52 percent believe they’ve gone gray faster during quarantine than they would have otherwise. In another survey, by Garnier reveals that the average woman feels she aged four years over the course of 2020. Other findings:
– 42% of women found new grey hairs while in quarantine
– 46% of women found their first grey hair while stuck at home in quarantine.
– 33% of women dyed their hair at home during the pandemic
– 85% of women who dye their hair do it to cover up their grey locks
I wondered if stress causing the hair to go gray is a myth, and it turns out stress does turn hair gray. Now I’m stressed about getting stressed! Stress triggers the body’s fight-or-flight response, which causes pigment-producing cells that give hair its color to go into a frenzy and dwindle in number.
