The Count Basie Center for the Arts Has Announced the Reopening of Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre
The Count Basie Center for the Arts has announced the reopening of Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre. Joel and Maryann spoke with Adam Phillipson, President/ CEO, Count Basie Center for the Arts, about the new Pop-Up Stage – an elevated flooring platform which will allow patrons to sit at seated, socially-distant tables and enjoy performances in the Center’s 94-year old historic venue. The venue’s new “Pop-Up Stage” configuration extends the length of the theater stage nearly halfway across the room, providing the space necessary to seat up to 150 patrons at cabaret-style tables. Like the Basie Center’s new performance space, The Vogel, Pop-Up Stage performances will be presented with strict COVID-19 safety measures in place.

Meet Maryann, who has been chasing magic since the early 90s. Back then, she hosted a love and dedication show at nights on Magic. Talk about romantic vibes! Since then, she traded her evening slot for mornings. When she’s not talking to you on the air, she’s living the glamorous life of a chicken, duck, pigeon, and German Short-Haired Pointer mom. Since Joel can never follow what she says, there is an entire feature called " What are you Talking About" at 9:10. Running is her secret to staying out of trouble – or at least staying ahead of the extra pounds. She has a husband named Matt, and a son named Zack, who she says makes her world a little adventure.
