The Purrfect Cat for the Elderly

Therapy cats were purchased for elderly residents at a Memory Care Wing at an assisted living facility in New York.  The Hasbro’s JOY FOR ALL Companion Pet cats look, feel and sound like real cats.  They have soft fur, soothing purrs and pleasant meows. These cats don’t requre a litter box, vet bills or any type of cleaning because they are electronic cats! These cats are made to comfort people with memory loss.  Family members are saying their loved one is more focused, is speaking more clearly, and is more aware of what is going on around them.  It’s recommended  to anyone who has a family member lost in the fog of dementia.  These therapy cats respond to petting, hugging and motion much like the real ones.  Built-in sensors respond to motion and touch.

Meet Maryann, who has been chasing magic since the early 90s. Back then, she hosted a love and dedication show at nights on Magic. Talk about romantic vibes! Since then, she traded her evening slot for mornings. When she’s not talking to you on the air, she’s living the glamorous life of a chicken, duck, pigeon, and German Short-Haired Pointer mom.
