Nikki McKibbin, best known for appearing on season one of American Idol, has died. She was 42.
Per TMZ, McKibbin's cause of death was due to a brain aneurysm.
McKibbin placed third on season one of American Idol behind Justin Guarini and winner Kelly Clarkson. McKibbin was known for more of a rock style on the music competition series and covered songs from the likes of Janis Joplin, Stevie Nicks and famously crushed a cover of Alannah Myles' "Black Velvet."
