On September 11, 2001, 2,763 people died at the World Trade Center in the horrific attacks that took place in New York City.
The 9/11 Memorial & Museum will lead the world in commemorating the 19th anniversary of 9/11 starting at 8:40 am ET on September 11, 2020.
Family members of the victims will gather on the Memorial plaza, however, those attending must adhere to state and federal guidelines due to COVID-19.
The 9/11 Memorial & Museum website states:
Throughout the ceremony, we will observe six moments of silence, acknowledging when each of the World Trade Center towers was struck and fell, and the times corresponding to the attack on the Pentagon and the crash of United Airlines Flight 93.
