Elton John Served Lawsuit by Ex-Wife Renate Blauel

Elton John has been served a lawsuit from his ex-wife Renate Blauel after she claims he violated the terms of their divorce. 

Per the Independent, Blauel is seeking £3 million ($3.8 million USD) due to John allegedly violating the terms of their divorce 32 years ago by writing about their marriage in his 2019 memoir Me. The exact terms of their divorce were not detailed or released to the press.

Legal documents were filed in London's high court this week, and the Independent reports, "The documents state that John agreed to remove certain passages before publication of the book, but Blauel, a German-born sound engineer, claims that the comments triggered long-standing mental health problems."

John and Blauel married in 1984 and divorced in 1988. John has yet to publically comment or release a statement regarding the lawsuit.
