The Healthiest Canned Goods to Have in Your Pantry
January 23rd, 2020
You can’t go to a dinner party without someone bringing up the words organic, vegetarian, farm fresh, kale, or goat cheese. I left the last dinner party I attended wondering if I’m eating healthy. I normally like to buy frozen vegetables or canned veggies because it’s less time consuming to open a bag or can. I t may seem like I’m lazy but cutting the veggies and disgarding the peels isn’t a pleasant task for me!
With all the hype around eating organic, whole foods, and visiting your local farmer’s market – one would wonder if canned goods are healthy.
According to a dietician, there are some healthy canned goods.
Not only are they healthy, but canned goods have a longer shelf life, cuts down on cutting time, and are less expensive.
So what are the seven canned goods you should always keep on hand?
Well…pumpkin puree, chickpeas, beans, tomatoes, canned tuna or salmon, coconut milk and green chiles.
Just make sure that you grab the low sodium or no-salt-added version.
