Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas” was released twenty-five years ago, but it has finally hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 charts. Billboard tweeted out the news, saying, “@MariahCarey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ is officially No. 1 on the #Hot100 for the first time this week, 25 years after its release.”

Los del Rio previously held the record with "Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix)" (32 total weeks charting before hitting No. 1).
The account adds that Mariah Carey now has 19 No. 1 hits on Hot 100, which is just shy of the Beatles’ 20. They also explain that the song has been on the Holiday 100 chart for 38 weeks.
