Christina Hendricks, the star of Mad Men and Good Girls, was also a hand model. This reveal comes on the 20th anniversary of movie with a well-known poster that features Hendricks’ hand.
Turns out, that flawless hand on the American Beauty poster is Hendricks’. Who knew? Well, apparently not many people since Hendricks decided to drop this two decade-old nugget of trivia on Instagram. Better twenty years later than never, right?
“Fun fact,” Hendricks wrote alongside a shot of the iconic image, “wait for it…I used to be a model and sometimes a hand model…. this is my hand and another model’s stomach.”
She added that she was “proud to be a part if this film in ANY WAY!!” American Beauty came out in 1999 and went on to win five Oscars including Best Picture.
Unfortunately, the owner of that torso is still a mystery. But it makes you wonder what other posters her hand has starred in without us knowing. Guess we’ll just have to wait until that movie’s 20th anniversary to see.
