Machine Gun Kelly has always been known for his fast paced lyrical ability and he showcases that along with his genre blending album Hotel Diablo. Getting inspiration from rock legends such as Linken Park and working with artists such as Travis Barker (Blink 182), up and coming artist Yung Blud, Lil Skies, Trippie Red & more, it’s obvious that MGK doesn’t want to be placed in one genre of music & he’s even expressed that recently leading up to the release of his latest project.

What is Hotel Diablo?

It’s a journey through the mind of the Cleveland rapper with every song being a different floor that you get off at. Between talking about his relationship with his mother, losing some friends this past year, battling his inner demons & much more, Hotel Diablo takes you on one hell of an elevator ride of emotions that you don’t want to get off of. Machine Gun Kelly is also known for his tattoos and he felt so strong about this album and what it means to him, that he actually got the title tattooed on the back of his head!

Why should you give it a listen?

I listen to a lot of music on a daily basis, it’s literally my job to play Central Jersey the most music between the hours of 3-7  every weekday. But the songs on this album are something else compared to other music out that’s out there. For once I feel like an artist truly put his thoughts and feelings on a piece of paper and turned it into a work of art for everyone to experience. Will these songs make you feel uneasy or uncomfortable at times? YES! But I think that’s done on purpose by MGK because the human mind can be dark and confusing at times. We all battle with our feelings in different ways, MGK simply has a bigger platform then the rest of us to really express it to the world.  If you’re looking for music that’s different from the rest, I think it’s time to give Hotel Diablo a listen.
