Feeling Overworked? It’s Now a Disease
Who hasn’t felt exhausted after a day of work? Did your energy ever feel so depleted that you couldn’t do things that you wanted to when you went home? Some people feel so bad about their job that they’re not efficiently working.
The World Health Organization has now classified those feelings as a disease that they call “Burnout.” The WHO gave burnout a definition – chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed.
There are three symptoms of work Burnout:
- Exhaustion
- Mental distance
- Inability to work efficiently
Burnout will become world-recognized by 2022.
In the meantime, take a vacation and fully unplug. Everyone has a breaking point. You need to schedule free time everyday even if it’s just 30 minutes. Perhaps you can find the time to take a nap, they’re not just for kids. if you’re not a napper, maybe you should find a hobby. My friend took up clay molding to keep her calm at least one weeknight per week. She made me a beautiful bowl, so I happened to reap the rewards! Now that we’re in the unofficial summer season, it’s time to travel and change your environment to spark your creativity. Or, you can always have a glass of wine.
