Pools And Beaches Open! Here’s What NOT To Do
Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start of summer. According to a new poll by TripAdvisor, if you want to enjoy the pools and beaches, here are a few things you should avoid.
The first is blasting loud music. I don’t mind, but I’m not one who is looking for a relaxing, sunbathing, quiet trip to the beach. Many people look forward to peaceful visit. 52% of people think it’s unacceptable to publicly change a diaper on the beach. I assume their talking about babies. Again, I don’t have a problem with that, but a little discretion is appreciated. If you’re on a crowded beach, 26% of beach-goers say you need to maintain a 6-foot buffer zone between you and your beach neighbor. I feel if we can see sand between our blankets, we’re not close enough. If there’s room on my blanket, feel free to join me.
I find the last violation interesting. 47% of swimmers say it’s wrong to urinate in the ocean. Translation: 53% of people swimming with me would not complain if I peed on them. I’ll let you know how that works out in my next blog, “The Water’s Warm Over Here.”
