If there are two things that have changed the way we work out over the past decade, it has been less time and more technology. It shouldn’t come as a surprise then that 65 percent of 1,000 Americans surveyed by Schwinn Fitness indicated they prefer to work out at home. Here are some other findings they came across:
- 77 percent use stationary bikes to watch TV. Another 23 percent read and 18 percent play phone games.
- 41 percent listen to music on the phone. And 8 percent take selfies while working out. If you’ve been to the gym lately, you know it seems like a disproportionate amount of those people have been working out at our gyms!
- Running and biking are the most popular things to do when working out at home. Body weight workouts (e.g. push-ups), yoga and free weight workouts round out the list.
Does this sound about right in your experience? Let me know!
