Fast Fitness: The State of the Workout in 2018

If there are two things that have changed the way we work out over the past decade, it has been less time and more technology. It shouldn't come as a surprise then that 65 percent of 1,000 Americans surveyed by Schwinn Fitness indicated they prefer to work out at home. Here are some other findings they came across:

  • 77 percent use stationary bikes to watch TV. Another 23 percent read and 18 percent play phone games.
  • 41 percent listen to music on the phone. And 8 percent take selfies while working out. If you've been to the gym lately, you know it seems like a disproportionate amount of those people have been working out at our gyms!
  • Running and biking are the most popular things to do when working out at home. Body weight workouts (e.g. push-ups), yoga and free weight workouts round out the list.

Does this sound about right in your experience? Let me know!
