Award show season is here and honestly, I barely watch any of them because its just easier to log onto twitter and get live updates. And I get it, people would say, “What?! But then you miss the excitement of the show.” Well to be honest again, sitting through a three or sometimes four hour show is brutal in my eyes! But, ever since I’ve been with my Fiance, The MTV VMA’s have been a must watch for us because she literally throws a party with all her friends every year. So if a day filled with grocery shopping, cleaning and cooking sounds like fun to you, feel free to give me a call anytime and we’ll switch places  for a day cause I’m terrible at all three of those things! All jokes aside though, I really don’t mind it because we make a day out of it just by running errands and spending time with each other.

Now with a table filled with chips, buffalo chicken dip, buffalo wings, potato skins, macaroni & cheese and everything else on the “DO NOT EAT CAUSE IT’S BAD FOR YOU” list complete, it’s time for her friends to arrive for the party. We all sit around, stuff our faces with carbs just to applaud pink for her upside down performance, ask each other what in the world Kanye West is talking about, and complain that these shows have become more politically driven rather then entertainment based. So, we eventually stop paying attention so we can play charades, heads up, clue etc. Which in my opinion is my favorite part of the night!

After the show is finished, the games have come to an end, the food has been devoured and everyone has left, we’re stuck with nothing but one messy apartment that needs a serious cleaning. Was it all worth it you might ask?

Well there wouldn’t be a mess if we just stuck with twitter! 😉
