Sorry Starbucks regulars, you're probably not going to like what we're about to tell you.
Are you sitting down? Good. Okay, here it goes ...
According to a report published in the New York Post, a plethora of holiday-inspired Starbucks drinks contain as much sugar as you would find in between five to seven chocolate doughnuts. Yes, five to seven.
We're not sure about you, but we've certainly never consumed five or more doughnuts in one sitting.
A grande Gingerbread Frapp faired the worst with nearly 70 grams of sugar. In case you're wondering, that's about 16 teaspoons. Yikes.
A venti Eggnog Latte, on the other hand, had roughly 56 grams of sugar, which is comparable to eating about five and a half chocolate doughnuts.
Undoubtedly, drinking a holiday coffee from Starbucks frequently could lead to health issues.
A representative from the British Dietetic Association told the New York Post that while these drinks seem harmless, drinking them regularly could be detrimental to a customer's waistline.
But hey, it's the holiday season and a time to be jolly. So if you can't cut back on your favorite holiday drink from Starbucks, you might want to add "exercise regularly" to your list of New Year's resolutions.
