The selected singers are: Sandra Dickerson (Watchung, N.J.), Kirk Geritano (Edison, N.J.), Deidre Thompson (Mendham, N.J.), Benjamin Mankowski Sr. (South Plainfield, N.J.), Melody Lieberman (Parsippany, N.J.), Gabby Toledo (Randolph, N.J.), Josh Cohen (Somerset, N.J.), Amelia Petrocelli (Bedminster, N.J.), Rebecca Morris (North Brunswick, N.J.) and Jennifer Paragano (Bernardsville, N.J.).

The Patriots auditioned 100 soloists who sang a minute and a half of the song of their choice during the audition. Singers were judged on vocal talent, stage presence, and their ability to perform before a large crowd.

For the fourth year in a row, the event was designed as a fundraiser and each contestant donated a minimum of $10 to Operation Shoebox New Jersey, an all-volunteer organization dedicated to collecting donated supplies to ship care packages to U.S. troops based overseas. The event helped raise over $1,100 for the organization.

Magic 98.3 FM’s morning host Chris McCoy was the emcee of the event. The judges were John Lisk of Magic 98.3 FM, Somerset Patriots PA announcer Paul Spychala, and professional singer Tess Giardina.

The National Anthem Auditions took place at Center Court on the lower level of Menlo Park Mall. This was the 12th year the Patriots hosted National Anthem auditions.

“There were some very talented singers that made it a tough decision for our three judges. We want to thank all of our participants that tried out this year. They all did a great job and we look forward to the ten finalists performing the National Anthem at the ballpark this season,” said Marc Russinoff, Vice President of Public Relations for the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.
