What is the Teachers Who Make Magic Awards program?

The Teachers Who Make Magic program will recognize up to 24 outstanding teachers to receive this prestigious award for their important contribution to society. These teachers become lifetime members of the Teachers Who Make Magic Class.

In addition to recognizing outstanding teachers we also recognize one Educational Support Professional in our community. Educational Support Professionals or ESP’s take care of our children every day and make sure they have the tools and resources to succeed in our schools and classrooms. ESP’s include paraprofessionals, secretaries, bus drivers, food service workers, custodial/maintenance workers and security personnel.

Who is eligible?

Nominated teachers must be full-time classroom teachers at a public or non-public school in the Central Jersey Area. For the 2017-2018 school year, teachers must spend the majority of their assignment time teaching students in grades Pre-K – 8, and 9-12.

How can a teacher be considered for a Teachers Who Make Magic award?

In order to be considered for a Teachers Who Make Magic Award, a teacher must first be nominated by a superintendent, principal, co-worker, or parent.  A teacher may not nominate himself or herself.  The nominating committee will not accept nominations from students.  Nominations may be submitted on the WMGQ website or via mail. The nomination period will be from December 11, 2018 through March 21, 2018.

What do the winners receive?

Winners will be announced on air each Friday at or around 9:10am on the Magic Morning Show, starting on January 5, 2018.

Each teacher will also be honored at an awards banquet, receive special gifts, banquet tickets, a Class of 2018 Award, and their stories will be read on stage. The awards banquet will take place April 18th, 2018 at The Pines Manor, (2085 NJ-27, Edison). More banquet details to follow.
