At 15, Debbie Felt The "Magic Power"

The song that was the game changer for me was "Magic Power" from the Canadian band, Triumph!

I was 15, heading to the movies with a friend, and this song came on the radio.   Lyrically, this song  described just how I felt about my connection to music:

"Something's at the edge of your mind, you don't know what it is
Somethin' you were hopin' to find but your not sure what it is
Then you hear the music and it all comes crystal clear
The music does the talkin' says the things you want to hear..."

To this day, whenever I hear it, it makes me remember everything about that night, and how I went to look for this song the next day at Sam Goody (remember that store?!)  Rik Emmett's vocals just soar on this track, and although I can't hit the high notes, I still love to sing along whenever I hear it.
Music has always been a BIG part of my life; it's the one constant in a sea of change, the one thing that has the ability to lift our mood, make us feel alive, and comfort us when we're down.  These next few lines of the song pretty much sum it up for me...if you've never heard this song before, check it out!
"The world is full of compromise, and infinite red tape
but the music's got the magic, it's your one chance for escape
Turn me on, Turn me up, it's your turn to dream
A little magic power makes it better than it seems..."
