An interesting question posed by rumors that there might be a Black Widow movie on the horizon for Marvel.
Deadline's Q&A with Marvel's leader Kevin Feige dropped a great bombshell that women will rejoice over, as will men who love ScarJo.
When asked if one was destined for a solo movie, Feige says "We think Scarlett Johansson’s portrayal of her is amazing. She’s a lead Avenger and has amazing stories in her own right to tell that we think would be fun to turn into a stand-alone franchise."
Natasha Romanoff holds her own weight, and the important part is she doesn't have any super powers or mutant effects. She is a skilled assassin and trained in her art, which makes her even more intriguing, especially if it does touch on her origin story.
Though, some may touch on some frustrations with women circulated action flicks. Just recently, it was revealed that the Ghostbusters Trailer starring the ladies from Saturday Night Live is one of the most disliked videos on YouTube. Somehow we feel that Natasha's flick would be a lot different (especially with Scarlett at the helm).
Through Iron Man 2 to now with the latest in Captain America: Civil War, she shows strength, tenacity, and intensity in her job, and having her front and center in a Marvel flick would be amazing.
Plus, seriously, someone needs to answer what happened with her and Clint (Hawkeye) in Budapest.
Here's a video making a case for ScarJo's own Marvel flick, in which you can see some of her lethal moves:
It's about time Marvel makes a female-centered superhero movie
