The Plainfield Academy for the Arts and Advanced Studies presents The Talented Tenth, by Richard Wesley. The Talented Tenth is about a group of Howard University graduates who live comfortably in a middle class setting. Event includes live harness racing, music and food. More than 20 specialty food trucks will participate. Guests will cast their vote for favorite food truck. The Jersey vs. Philly Food Truck Mash-Up will be held in the Backyard and on the East Apron and will open to the public at 5 p.m. for $5 general admission at the door. Kids under 12 will be admitted free and the track will remain open and free to the public before, during and after the festivities.

Filmed in 1927 and acclaimed upon release for its technical prowess and realistic air-combat sequences, the film became the yardstick against which future aviation films were measured. The Bike Ride for Amy, featuring 15-mile, 25-mile, 35-mile and 50-mile routes, supports the cost of annual mammograms for women who don’t have the financial means to be screened for breast cancer and the cost of diagnostic ultrasounds for those women whose screenings may suggest cancer. Since its inception in 2007, The Amy Foundation has helped over 2,500 women to receive free mammograms and diagnostic ultrasounds at Central Jersey Hospitals.
